DMG Physicians’ Life-saving Efforts Recognized by Phoenix Fire Department

At their annual “Salute to Excellence” ceremony, the Phoenix Fire Department recognized Valleywise Health’s Emergency Department as a “Partner of the Year.”
This recognition highlights the team’s innovative work developing ice water immersion protocols to treat heat stroke—efforts that have helped expand life-saving practices across the region. Phoenix Fire now carries ice and immersion bags on all its engines, with other health systems following suit.
