Diagnosing and treating blood disorders and cancer

District Medical Group (DMG) hematology and oncology specialists are focused on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of blood disorders and all types of cancer, while providing compassionate care to patients. We partner with the patient and their family to develop an effective, understandable treatment plan, as well as educate the patient on how to prevent new or recurrences of cancer. Serving patients of all ages, our hematology and oncology specialists offer:

  • Biopsies, including bone marrow and other needed biopsies

  • Blood transfusions

  • Chemotherapy, including intravenous (IV) chemotherapy

  • Mammograms

  • Surgical diagnosis and treatment

Hematology

DMG includes board-certified, fellowship-trained hematologists. Hematologists are specialists in diagnosing and treating blood and bone marrow cells, blood disorders and diseases of the blood, including:

  • Anemia

  • Blood clotting disorders, such as hemophilia

  • Blood infection

  • Leukemia

  • Lymphoma

  • Multiple myeloma

Oncology

Oncologists specialize in all types of cancer. They do cancer research, educate patients on risks and prevention, diagnosis and treat cancer and care for patients post-treatment (survivorship).
