Personal History and Interests

Division Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Ilana Addis MD, FACOG, MBA, MPH is a lifelong learner as well as teacher. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Chicago in Illinois, completing a Bachelor of Arts in Biology as well as Public Policy. In addition to completing a medical degree, Dr. Ilana Addis holds two additional post-graduate degrees:

  • A Master of Public Health from University of California Berkley
  • A Master of Business Administration from University of Arizona Eller College of Management in Tucson, which she completed in 2022 while simultaneously practicing medicine and teaching medical students

In addition to treating patients, Dr. Addis is also committed to clinical research to advance women’s healthcare. With funding from the National Health Institute, she researched minimally invasive methods of treating overactive bladder and has held academic leadership positions during her nearly 20 year career. Dr. Addis has also taught future women’s health physicians as a clinical professor and was recognized with the University of Arizona College of Medicine Faculty Mentoring Award in 2022.

She is fluent in English and Spanish and is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
