Geneva Baruelo, DO
Educational Background
Personal History and Interests
Fluent in English and Tagalog, Geneva Baruelo, DO immigrated from the Philippines to the United States when she was 15 years old. She spent her teen years through medical school in Arizona and considers herself “an Arizonan through and through.”
She enjoys warm climates and returned to the Valley of the Sun after completing her family medicine residency in Waco, Texas. Waco Family Medicine, where she did her residency, provides high quality care to its community, with a commitment to the underserved. This focus on caring for the underserved aligned with Dr. Baruelo’s values, a reason she chose that particular residency program.
Enjoying time with her family, she married her high school sweetheart, and they have a son and four rescue dogs. Dr. Baruelo also enjoys cooking, singing and taking care of her plants. She can also be found curling up on the couch to watch a good true crime, dark comedy or fantasy show and falling asleep. Trivia nights, camping and canoeing are also family favorites.
