Personal History and Interests

Alexzandra Hollingworth, MD, MEd, FACS is a trauma surgeon treating patients at Valleywise Health Medical Center in Phoenix. With her extensive experience and dedication, she holds various leadership positions, including vice chair of surgery and vice chief of staff. As the geriatric surgery director, one of Dr. Hollingworth’s primary goals is to establish geriatric surgery verification at Valleywise.

She also serves as core faculty for the general surgery program and quality improvement officer for the Creighton University Arizona Health Education Alliance. Dr Hollingworth is the co-course director of the Health System Science course for medical students at Creighton University School of Medicine in Phoenix.

Originally from New York City, Dr. Hollingworth completed her general surgery residency at Carilion Clinic Virginia Tech and trauma/critical care fellowship at the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine-Fresno.

Outside of surgery, she enjoys staying active with fitness, sports, and Krav Maga alongside her husband and son.
