Emergency Medicine Department

The Emergency Department at Maricopa Medical Center has separate adult and pediatric facilities offering 24 hour acute care. The Arizona Department of Health Services has designated Maricopa Medical Center an adult and pediatric trauma center and Cardiac Arrest Center with 24 hour acute coronary capability.

We partner with the Phoenix Fire Department and other EMS agencies as a receiving trauma hospital, receiving over 7500 patients each year. The Emergency Department is committed to the highest level of patient care, having a patient-focused mission to deliver high quality clinical care to every patient, under any circumstances.

In addition, we operate the 7th Avenue Walk-In Clinic at 1201 S.  7th Avenue in south central Phoenix. This urgent care center provides emergency medical care to patients with illnesses, sprains, fractures,  and wounds of a generally non-life threatening nature and is open from 7 AM to 11 PM every day. Patients who require more complex care or hospitalization are transferred to our main Emergency room at Maricopa Medical Center.
