The Department of Psychiatry is a large and dynamic group of adult and child psychiatrists, psychologists, full-time licensed counselors, nurse practitioners and additional staff. We are the leading provider of behavioral health services in Arizona.
We staff two acute-care psychiatric hospitals with a total of 190 beds – the largest number of behavioral health beds in Arizona outside of the Arizona State Hospital. We operate our own outpatient psychiatric clinic – Desert Horizons Psychiatric Services, and provide full-time psychiatric consultation/liaison services to multiple acute care hospitals, community and tribal clinics, long term care facilities, schools and residential treatment programs, the Arizona Juvenile Probation Facilities, and provide an ECT service as well.
