Educational Background
Personal History and Interests
With more than 25 years’ experience, Lisa McClellan, MD, MPH endeavors “to treat every patient as a family member.” She believes that “prevention and strong communities help all patients live healthier lives.”
Dr. McClellan has served in physician leadership positions as well as taught medical students and residents throughout her career. She served as Director, Ambulatory Services at Phoenix Indian Medical Center/Indian Health Services and was an adjunct professor at University of Arizona (UA) College of Medicine- Phoenix, where she led medical missions with UA medical students to the Dominican Republic.
With an interest in international medicine and global health, Dr. McClellan volunteered for a year in China with Doctors Without Borders. She also completed short medical missions to Haiti and Malawi and did rotations during medical school and her residency program in Zimbabwe, Honduras and Cameroon. She is fluent in Spanish.
In addition to her clinical education and training, Dr. McClellan holds a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Health Services Administration from the UA Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health in Tucson.
Outside of her medical practice, Dr. McClellan enjoys music and maintaining her physical health through hiking and bicycling.
