The Division of Psychiatry is a robust and dynamic group that consists of 25 full-time adult psychiatrists, 7 full-time child psychiatrists, 9 full-time psychologists, 5 nurse practitioners, 5 full-time licensed counselors and over 35 part-time staff. We are committed to being a leading provider of behavioral health services in Arizona. We staff two acute-care psychiatric hospitals with a total of 190 beds - the largest number of behavioral health beds in Arizona outside of the Arizona State Hospital, serve as faculty for an Adult Psychiatry Residency Training Program and the only Child Psychiatry Residency Training Program in Phoenix, operate our own outpatient psychiatric clinic – Desert Horizons Psychiatric Services, provide full-time psychiatric consultation/liaison services to multiple acute care hospitals, provide an ECT service, provide psychiatric and administrative support to community and tribal based clinics and residential treatment programs, we provide psychiatric consults and treatment services to nearly 30 long term care facilities and to Arizona Juvenile Probation Facilities, we provide the medical director for the Arizona Department of Economic Security Division of Developmental Disabilities and we have partnered with the Osborn School District to provide early childhood counseling (both for the student and their families), testing, and psychiatric services in Elementary schools.
